Miss Elly Excursions 2026
Twin sixty horsepower engines power Miss Elly an eight meter swamp cruiser built in Botswana; she has an upper Deck equipped with two clam shell tents, and a lower deck comprising two bunks a fold out table, kitchenette, flush toilet, hot and cold shower and two refrigerators.
Sunset cruise approximately three hours for a maximum of six passengers, departing from Burnside.
Board Miss Elly at 16.00, after a short briefing find a comfortable position on either the upper or lower deck as we start our cruise out of Samochina Lagoon. We join the main Okavango river and turn upstream hugging the shoreline viewing a variety of fauna and birds, there may be a possibility of viewing the elusive Sitatunga antelope.
As the sunsets we anchor midstream and take positions to view the setting sun and toast the end of another perfect day.
We return to Burnside in the late evening.
What’s supplied: we provide soft drinks and snacks, guests are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages.
Overnight excursions; one to three night cruises.
Maximum four guests sharing housed in two clam shell tents on the upper deck. A lower deck comprising two bunks, a fold out dining table, kitchenette, flush toilet, hot and cold shower and two deep freezers.
All meals and soft drinks are provided guests to supply their own alcohol.
Board Miss Elly at Burnside, departing through Samochina Lagoon we join the Okavango River, as the sun sets we stop for our first night anchored on an island.
Camp chairs are arranged around a small fire as we toast the end of another perfect day.
A three course dinner is provided on board Miss Elly. Guests are welcome to use the on board facilities and continue with conversation around the campfire before retiring.
Coffee and tea is available first thing in the morning and breakfast comprising cereals, fruit juice, egg options, bacon and toast.
We continue with our downriver meander viewing a variety of birds occasional crocodiles, hippo and perhaps elephant!
We stop for a light lunch comprising cold meats and salads before continuing downriver on our meander stopping at sunset on another remote island. The next two days are a repeat of the first but with a change of scenery as we explore further downriver.
After an early breakfast on the fourth day we power up our twin engines and head homewards arriving at our starting point at about midday whereupon we bid you farewell wishing a safe journey onwards!
Fishing Excursions of one to three days or more.
Maximum four guests accommodated in two roof top tents, lower deck comprises two bunks a folding table, kitchenette, flush toilet, hot and cold shower and two deepfreezers.
Our four meter “Pink Panther” tender boat with skipper /guide accompanies Miss Elly for fishing excursions.
Depending on time guest arrival time, the first night is usually spent close to Burnside, with dinner on board.
A light breakfast consisting of sandwiches with coffee in thermos flasks will be ready for the tender boat which will join us first thing the next morning with skipper for fishing. Returning at about eleven for “Brunch” served on Miss Elly whom has moved downriver to a new location on an island.
The Captain will take the guests on “Pink Panther” for an afternoon fishing experience returning late evening to find the Skipper/guide has prepared the overnight accommodation and set out chairs on land with a welcoming fire.
A three course meal will be served, either on Miss Elly or around the camp fire. Guests are welcome to use the on board shower and toilet facility before retiring.
The following days are the same except for changes to the location as we move downriver.
On the last day guests return to Burnside with sufficient time to continue their onward journey!
